Greetings from Ewa and Erja. It’s a pity that they are no longer participants in the project.

We thank them for all their great work in our project and wish them all the best in the future!

We don’t understand the reasons of the Belgium agency. They didn’t give permission to start the third project-year with us. It’s a pity, but the Belgium schools will be our partner in 2006-2007! Great!

3. The next activities of the third year: “Se@ing EU”

*        Please read our intention in the renewal application about the third project year.

The theme for the third year of our project is: 'Se@eing EU'
In 2006-2007 we will deepen the knowledge of the partner countries as independent countries and as members of the European Union. What is their role in EU? Does the role of one partner in EU differ from the role of another partner and if it does, why? We can also discuss about energy and environmental issues in the different partner countries.

On the first project meeting in October we will talk about the definite subject and the products and corpus. Possibilities are: European citizenship and different languages in EU countries, traditions, Children rights in Europe or the environment and the EU: What is the EU doing in each country. What’s people’s opinion about it? EU in future?

The products will be sent to each participating school and will be the opportunity for kids and adults to compare, confront and talk about the differences of infrastructures, habits and traditions within the European Union in class and on www.think.com platform.

We will also organize a pupil mobility with some countries to Torrevieja, Spain.

The second meeting is in March in Oulu, Finland. This meeting is also a meeting with pupil-mobility from other countries. They stay in guest families and  live the daily life in Finland!

At the end of the Academic year we will organise an exhibition in every school with all the material sent by the other schools.

Also we will organize something special, because it’s the last year of our project. In May we will organize a special European Day.

Our new construction:

First period: September – December

Second period: January – May

*        Brainstorm and discussion about the content of the first period

o        Different ages/ grades, different possibilities, different materials…. What shall we do?

o        Brainstorm about ideas

o        Discussion about the ideas

o        Conclusion

We had a good brainstorm with different ideas.

We decide the next:

- Every school/class have got a brainstorm about: What means EU for us? Pupils make a word-web. We send it to each other before the end of October.

When we received all the brainstorms/ word-webs (on posters/paperwork) we compare the different

brainstorms.

Then we choose one subject to work out.

Possibilities are:

- What is EU doing in our country

- Energy environment: what can EU do to help different countries.

- Citizenship and rights of pupils

- Why is Brussel the capital of EU and which kind of people are working their?

Start-point is the thoughts of the pupils: What do they like to exchange with pupils of the partnerschools and what do they like to learn?

Every school makes a presentation (paperwork/posters) about the subject after the brainstorm.

Pupils can ask each other for more information by mail or think.com.

We send the work to each other at least before the end of January.

*        www.think.com in our third project-year:

*        Pupils have to write English sentences with their pictures.

*        Each sticky ends with: Se@EU!

*        Each school has got teachers who are responsible for the work of the pupils and give them once or twice a year a appreciation of the work on the website
