Summary
The planned partnership consists in 7 primary and 1 secondary schools from seven European countries: Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Iceland, Greece, Poland. The title of the project is SMASH and contains all important elements of our objectives: S(tudy/learning to learn) M(obility), A(ctivities), S(port), H(ealth). The main thematic areas of the partnership are: Health Education, Physical Education and sport, European citizenship and European dimension. Partnership activities will be implemented in the following educational fields: Health education, Sports and Foreign languages. The project entitled Smash focuses on promoting healthy lifestyle of European citizens. The participants of the planned partnership share their ideas, expand their knowledge of the issue by means of ICT technologies, paperwork, being involved in mobility activities, performing activities stimulating local initiatives to lead a healthy life. The work in the partnership will be done on three levels according to the age and language competence diversity of the pupils: Level 1 (starting level- pupils aged 6-9), Level 2 (basic level, pupils aged 10-13 with elementary knowledge of English) and level 3 (intermediate level, pupils aged 10-13 being more at ease at English). In this big project tasks and responsibilities have been dealt out to build a well organized project.
Objectives Concrete objectives of the partnership are: · We stimulate and motivate pupils to think about a healthier lifestyle for themselves and their classmates in other European countries. So they meet other European citizens and learn from them, their cultures and traditions and the use of ICT. · We encourage the use of English as a common foreign language. So pupils can have the experience that they can make new contacts on an easier way with other European kids. It fosters the sense of belonging to a United Europe! · We like to learn from each other on 3 levels: pupils, teachers and (school)management and planned our activities on it. We want to support improvements in pedagogical approaches (focused on tolerance and respect) and school management. · We organize the mobility of pupils, teachers and school management in each country, so they can have the real experience of experiencing another European culture/day life/school(system) and learning from it. It helps them improve their English, take responsibility for preparing, participating and evaluating meeting-activities and give them independence and involvement. They can share their experiences with others, including parents. · We support the development of ICT-based activities by making an own website and using tools to create an internet-environment where pupils can make their own websites and communicate with each other. · We improve and keep a good community feeling: we make new friends, work together to improve relevant skills and use creativity, league, sportsmanship and humour to work on social elements as respect and tolerance, which are a part of good physical and mental health . We adopt the following approach to achieve our objectives: · Organize 6 project-meetings in the partner countries to prepare, develop and evaluate all activities with an active participation of pupils, teachers and school management. Also an active participation for parents in the country of the meeting as host families for pupils · Inform each other about the progress of activities through the common website · Work with a clear construction of responsibilities and tasks (see 5.4) · Exchange of materials, presentations, picture-work etc. by post and ICT.
